A Word from out President . . .
Spring Greetings!
As I write this, spring has fully sprung (except for a few cooler temperatures now and then). But the flowers are blooming and the trees are budding and Easter has passed. We had a wonderful stitch-in in early April, in a new venue, too. I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. Of course, I had an additional reason to enjoy our April stitch-in because my secret stitcher remembered me with a wonderful birthday basket of goodies—including, among other things, an Easter bouquet pattern, chocolate bunny, and stitched birthday “stocking.” Thank you, secret stitcher! It certainly brightened my birthday and Easter.
In June, we are scheduled to demonstrate our craft at the Cincinnati Museum Center. We could still use a few volunteers to help with this—we have five ladies who have offered thus far and a few more would reduce the number of hours for each. If you haven’t taken the opportunity to participate in a demonstration—either at the Museum Center, Gathering of Guilds, Sharon Woods, or the Celtic Festival—this would be a good time to experience sharing our craft. It’s a wonderful experience, an opportunity to stitch for a couple hours and meet new friends. Contact Peggi Anneken and share your experiences with others who have either never seen cross stitching or have little knowledge of our craft. more....

Field Trip on Saturday, June 13th.
We will be going to the Stitching Cottage, located at 1263 N. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, 45432-2633. The Stitching Cottage is located in a small strip mall opposite Marion's pizza. We are planning to assemble at 10 a.m. We will probably have lunch at Marion's pizza across the street around noon. Then you are free to return to the Stitching Cottage or you can shop at some other shops nearby: Cake Craft, Inc. has some FABULOUS cake decorations - just neat to see. Busy Beaver Arts and Crafts has 60,000 different items for crafts of all kinds, including knitting, crocheting, beading, baskets, dollhouses, miniatures, ribbon, cross stitch, candles, etc. Fiberworks is a terrific yarn store with knitting, crochet, and felting supplies. Sherril from Stitching Cottage is planning some surprises for us, so she needs to know a general head count. If you are planning to join us, would you please drop me an email and let me know?
